I'm the only gay guy at my work, in a department of about 80 people. Lots of religious types and republicans though. I am also totally OUT at work, complete with a framed pic of me and hubby on my desk and us together on my screen saver pics.
I have been out in the work place for nearly 20 years now, including company parties where we are the only same-sex couple.
While I am shunned and despised by some, it is usually behind my back where other coworkers have stood up for me. Also when I interject a gay version to their joke punchlines, some are never sure if it is OK to laugh?! But there have been a few open converts who learned that gay people are just people too. Also confessions of coworkers with gay family members to show their support. So it has been a good experience overall.

Funny, I just read about this guy in Charlie Glickman's sex positivity blog. He wanted to make his and his wife's relationship open - after he'd already cheated on her for six years. (So he's "helping" spread bad ideas of what an open relationship actually means, too.) What a gem.
(You know, he does sort of resemble Darth Sidious... It's the chin, I think.)

Sorry to hear about your car. Here's to hoping it really is just the thermostat.

I wish you luck with your car. I had the same issue with my car overheating awhile back, except the cause was due to a coolant leak caused by a faulty head gasket. Ugh! I hope your situation works out the way you described. Hugs, bud!
