Wednesday morning, we all pack up into one feisty vehicle and head south to Indianapolis. During this time in the land I shall dub “Indy”, there will be gaming, there will be cosplay, and there will be me – staring at hot dudes who are gaming and doing cosplay. This is something I look forward to every year. It’s the weekend when I actually grow unaffected by seeing a man’s asscrack, just because there is SO MUCH OF IT that it’s actually overkill. Granted, most of these guys whose asscrack I want to see tend not to be the most cleanly of guys either… but hey – that’s what shower-sex is for, right?
This year at Gencon, one of the things I’m looking forward to the most is a panel called “Queer as a Three-Sided Die” which is described as:
“Gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered people are a part for the gamer community. This seminar looks at gender and sexuality issues in gaming from design and publishing to game-play and community. Gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered people are a part for the gamer community, and although the community is known for its tolerance, GLBT people still often struggle to see places for themselves in the fantasy worlds we create. This seminar looks at gender and sexuality issues in gaming from design and publishing to game-play and community. PANELISTS ARE: Industry Insider Guest of Honor Steve Kenson, Joseph Carriker, Jeremy Crawford and Wesley Schneider.”
I’m intrigued by the concept of this one and will likely have a bit more to say about it after I’ve sat through the seminar. For the time being, I’m curious the direction they’re going to take. Also – if you happen to be going as well and read the comic – seek me out. Say hi. I’ll be nice, I promise.
Also – I look forward to hopefully having a chance to meet Joseph Carriker, as I’ve only bantered with him on Facebook… and I want to smack Jeremy Crawford for having killed my characters TWICE during the last two Gencon’s D&D Press Playtests…
This year, sadly, my partner was dropped out of the D&D Press Playtest just at the end of last week… which is a bit confusing to say the least. It DOES mean that Jeremy won’t be able to kill my character, which I guess is good… but I’m bummed that we won’t get to enjoy a game run by him yet again. He is definitely good at what he does!
On the topic of my prints – after only a week of offering them, I’m actually now sitting at (potentially) over 50% of my goal, on the way to 75%. I saw potentially, because I’ve had requests by several people, but no actual transactions taking place – which is fine. There really is no rush, as I won’t get to put in the request for prints until I get back from Indy next week anyway. After that time, I may see what I can do about making another push to get myself up past the 100% mark for my goal of going to HiBearNation.
It does feel good to have something TANGIBLE to offer, instead of just begging for donations, I’ll say that! And I love seeing the comics that you guys pick to have printed out. It’s kinda telling – not just about the fan, but also about how certain comics can connect with people more than I might realize. I will admit there have been a couple comics that I didn’t feel were my strongest, yet apparently – was someone’s favorite! That’s kind of a cool feeling, to be sure!
So with that – good night and keep it clean out there.

It’s all fun and games until someone sticks a D20 in your eye. Have fun out there.
re: cosplay ideas
Methinks there is a madness to your method.
I have the Cub dressed as Lilu department covered:

Why is it that I find these attractive? lol. For some reason I particularly like Lilu…probably because I love that movie. I wouldn’t exactly mind seeing balls hanging out of there…
There is a fine tradition of gender bending cub cosplay in webcomics…
